William Jenkins Dorworth, Jr., son of William Jenkins Dorworth, Sr. and Mary Louise Cator was born in Baltimore, MD on 28 January 1920.

Bill grew up in Bellefonte, PA surrounded by a host of aunts and uncles.  His younger sister, Anne, was a constant companion.

Bellefonte is a beautiful town in central Pennsylvania with a trout stream that runs right through the middle of the community. The surrounding hills are lush with greenery and wildlife.

Bill studied engineering at Penn State University graduating in 1941. 

From 1942-1946, Bill served in the United States Navy.

By January 1951 Bill is in Pittsburgh working for General Electric.
